We didn't took the elevator but chose to climb 2 floors on the stairs as it is faster.

Dr. L came in a while later to tell us it's not a big problem we don't have projectors what so ever, we will only be presenting it to a few MOs anyways. And guess who? Prof T the head of the neurology division came in. We approached him before, but he rejected us because he was busy. I guess. Prof L from the cardio department did supervise another group, but just gave the instruction and let them do the elective on their own without any inspection. So I guess we are glad we came to Dr. L.

YL gave the presentation in the end. It's not a problem to any of us should they ask for the details as all of us are involved. That's what we thought. So the guys were picking the presentator the night before, but I was excluded anyhow, since I was there finishing up the report.

Prof. T stopped YL a lot to ask questions. "What is Jendrassik maneouvre?" "So you mean they're all hyper-reflxes?" "Now this is interesting, no reflexes in all? As in 100% absent?" "Back one slide, let me see the percentage. Can you tell me more about the figures?" "So how can you tell me that I can trust your results?" "30%? That's a lot. Are you sure?" But in the end, he just said "Alright, that's fine. Fine.."

We rounded up saying abnormal reflexes can be present in the normal population. But with the Jendrassik maneouvre, a greater grade of reflexes can be elicited.

But what excited us the most, he said it's a publishable material. And asked Dr. L to write it up, or rather, as how we see it, polish it and make it more of a journal material. It was a very subjective study. The whole reflex thing is very subjective, and our research made it scientific. He also said it was a good idea that we carried out this study to prove what everyone always believed in, so it's a really good study. And added a lot of "Good. Good."

It was a call for a lavish dining out. We have finally finished our elective study! I guess. Unless Dr. L called us back and asked us to do further study on the stroke patients.

If you read my other post before, I blogged about us taking the samples from the patients in the hospital. We've been lying yes. But Dr. L was the one who told us to write a report already, that what we've collected thus far is enough for our elective study.

It was funny to think though, that our initial title for our elective study was to find out the normal range of some vision thingy in the normal population through line bissection test. But after we came back from Cambodia, he suggested that we do the collection of data for reflexes as well. We spent one week or so doing a preliminary study, to get a grasps of what it is like tapping everyone with our tendon hammer. And after so much efforts put into the reflex test, Dr. L said we might as well just put aside our line bissection test and concentrate on our reflex test instead. Then again, our ultimate goal was to compare the reflexes in stroke patients to that of the normal population.

So... I also don't know.

But throughout the presentation, we saw a few lies. I don't know if Dr. L knows himself or he was just involved in our lies as well. See, the older adults sample above 40 that we collected in the hospital a few days ago, they were people from the community. They might be having mild cough or were present at the hospital for collection of their high blood pressure or high cholesterol medicine. We asked Dr. L back then about approaching people other than the medical staff, and he said it's fine as long as the people we approached does not have diabetes or neurological problem. BUT, during the presentation, he told Prof. T that our older adults are hospital staff! So... I find a huge pang of guilt for not clarifying. But if we do that, the whole study might not even be fine!

Anyhow... I guess it was still a call for relief. It's over finally. Phew... Anything else we do after this, we don't have to rush for a report or whatsoever. Hurrah

On tying the Knot

I love him to bits. Yes. I admit that. Whatever it is, I've spent a lot of time with him. And by a lot, I do mean A LOT. I practically have another world of mine with him. We spend the night until wee hours in the morning, yes, doing all those that you could ever imagined. We are young. So what do you expect? It's natural to be playful, no?

Okay fine, it's another forbidden relationship between a man and his gadget, that's if you consider him one.

I sent him to Low Yatt plaza yesterday. Went into the shop where I bought him in December 2006. I showed the technician my precious little darling. And he tried switching it on, but to no avail. He flipped him around, screwing in those little nuts while I watched him adjusting those helluva electronics. And he flipped him around, tried to wake him up again. It's still empty.

After much flipping and screwing, the technician finally got tired. It was an attempt of vain.

I drove the little Compaq to the HP headquarters in Bukit Damansara. And guess what, the receptionist said it'll most probably cost over 1k. I can see my darling in 2 weeks time, they just need to, take out the brain and replace it with a new one. He would never be the same. I need time to adjust to the new him. Omygawd, I feel so depressed.

Depression kicks in. No, not solely because of him, but rather the 1k I needed to spend to get him back again. I felt as if I'm using my pocket money like I'm Paris Hilton or the Sultan of B or whoever rich who spends without thinking twice. There's all those mega spendings this year. The Cambodia trip, the repair of my compact camera, the other trip I've made with someone new which no, I'm not going to tell who, and now this, the investment I'm making towards the forbidden relationship of a human and a gadget.

My saving account is running dry. I have no idea how am I supposed to spend the rest of my 3 months here, without asking for help from the parents. I don't want to. I think I'm on the verge of breaking down...

And I'm spending a lot of time in the car alone. Literally. Just last night, I drove to Dataran Merdeka, parked at the side, and watched the lights as the time passed by. No, I didn't do anything. I don't know what I can do without the much trusted legs.

I feel... helpless. And hopeless.

But I can't just tie the knot. I meant, the Malay proverb. Translated, it goes tying the stomach. Which means, abstinence from food. So no, I can't just tie the knot. I need my share of food still.

ps: Depressing sky by Barca Branca

Day5 & I was itchy with how cheap the tickets were, and were itching to have another country's custom stamp on the passport again. So I was asking around the housemates as to who wanted to go travel after our finals, since we're stuck in KL doing elective anyway. And the first destination that came into my mind was CAMBODIA! *sniggering* Ah well, I love exotic places.

Well, the plan didn't really materialized, since most of the housemates were not interested. YL wasn't interested in cultural and civilization history sites, nor any temples for that matter. ML the gf of course wouldn't be tagging along anymore. IS has some financial problem. CH thought Cambodia is some sick lousy under-developed place. KW said his mum would definitely disagree with the plan, not sure what's the reason; but the gf Shan wanted to follow. KK was the only one still interested. Shan also managed to persuade another female coursemate to travel together. So there were 4 of us.

We didn't get anything from the MAS Travel Fair however, as there's the MATTA Fair coming up in March (yeap, this weekend!). But I was there at KL Convention Centre nevertheless. Lex wanted to see if there's anything interesting. So there we were, elbowing through the crowds. Tickets to Cambodia cost 350 bucks then, the 'Free&Easy Package' of 3 days 2 nights that was.

So anyway, while MATTA Fair is here, I asked the initial group to re-confirm the trip. Somehow, they lost interest. Instead of Cambodia, they were thinking of Perhentian Island, or Redang Island. WTF?! I was disappointed, to be honest. Like uh, I was up and happy to have this destination to look forward to after the finals, and now they say they don't want to go overseas anymore. *blergh* Such a bad thing to do on your friend you know! *pfft*

However, as the weekend's creeping up close, and as I nearly gave up the thought of travelling, what's more that bad experience of travelling alone, I thought the dreams of travelling overseas annually would be shattered. It was only until Wednesday that one of the girls in the batch asked if I still want to go to Cambodia. Somehow the news had been spreading around, and she was asking who and when I'll be going, since she's still thinking . And the fact that there's another 2 guys (Chew and Wang) who wanted to go, I was all excited again! *yipeee*

So we went to Putra World Trade Centre today. Tricked KK into following me there, despite him not going to Cambodia. Both Chew and Wang were not going, and they asked one of the members going to Taiwan for elective to get the pamphlets for them. We did bumped into the Taiwan group there, and they said they haven't been able to get anything on what Chew asked them to. It was then that I know Chew wanted some other informations apart from Cambodia, Bali, Phuket, and who knows what else. *LMAO* Some avid traveller showing up. *sniggering*

Anyway, I managed to get what I wanted. So I shall be sorting out which of those agencies I'll be going with. But the dillema now would be, should I just stick to the one place in Siem Reap? Or should I just take this opportunity to visit Phnom Penh as well? After all I'll be visiting the country, and to say I only step foot in Siem Reap and not Phnom Penh, I couldn't say I'm visiting Cambodia as a whole. So so so so... 4 days 3 nights? or 5 days 4 nights?? Need to discuss with that two...

KK on the other hand, had been such a good friend keeping me company. We came back with so many pamphlets, or rather, visitor guides. He collected those of America, New Zealand & Australia, India and Turkey...

The most interesting part was, when I laughed why he would want too many maps of China and her provinces when he's not travelling there. He replied "Who says I'm not going? Just not now, but will definitely visit China." Ri<em>iiii</em>ght. The MATTA Fair is held every year okay? In the end, we brought home information books and maps on Shandong, Liaoning, Anwei, Xiaxi, Suzhou, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Kaifeng, Kangzhou, Huangshan, Beijing, Shanghai, and the silk road thingy. God knows what we're going to do with all those maps anyway. But I really do heart the 2 postcards that they printed. China is the most generous exibitor in the whole travel fair! *sniggering*

Other than that, we brought home heaps of rubbish. Entrance fee of 3 bucks and we got ourselves a bag each, I have no idea what I could do with it. *LMAO*

Yeaps. So I shall be discussing it with Chew and Wang... Fun fun fun fun fun! *sniggering* Just hopefully they're not pulling out last minute. That would be such an anti-climax. We won't be doing backpacking, we'll be doing trips, so the budget would be quite high, less than 2k, but would be over 1k. Or roughly 1k if we're there for 3 days.

<IMG BORDER="0" SRC="http://bp3.blogger.com/_b2vPNSx_Hoc/R9pwe12k23I/AAAAAAAABgM/IlYus22wtTU/s400/Photo-0132.jpg" ALT="" STYLE="DISPLAY: block; I mean, I came across this test on one of the blogs, where the author was classified as "Evil". Questions are pretty obvious, as in which answer you choose determine how evil you are. But somehow, it just appears that, even when I'm so damn UN-evil and I chose "Comedy" over "Movies of Evil" when asked about what's my type of movie, the website just won't want to settle down with the fact that I'm the slightest bit of evil, and what's more, they came up with a new term that I'm actually TWISTED! Could you even believe that? I mean, look at my post! Which posts indicated that I've had Mr. Jekyll in myself huh? Okay maybe when I cursed a few here and there; or about my GAY SEX fantasies; and that "forbidden love between a man and his handphone" as Paul put it... But all in all... wait a minute... I guess I am TWISTED... LOL. But hey, really, I'm just being nice. I've got straigt readers, and homosexuals as well. I'm just not being homophobic. LOL. But anyway, since I've decided to be TWISTED today, I guess I could carry on being TWISTED then.

Interesting image I captured at the lecture hall after Dr. Tay's Medical Microbiology class. None of the 3 dozed off individuals in the photo are myself. I was the one taking the photo. Call me TWISTED, it seems like I'm the one obsessed with sleeping future doctors lately. LOL. But to be honest, I guess I have somehow TWISTED my circardian rhythm. I sleep at 1.30 a.m. every night, and woke up at 7.10 am every morning. And I don't need any more sleep for the rest of the day. I'm still working towards reducing my sleeping hours, maybe 3 hours per day... who knows, I might finally TWIST my brain so much that I could become a sleepless monster. Wonder what it's like to be then, not needing to sleep and all. I'll have 24 hours per day, as in 24 HOURS per day. I won't need to save up 6 hours per day for sleep, which to the TWISTED me, is just merely a waste of time, although those seriously un-TWISTED scientists and medical peoples have been reporting it's better to have 6 hours of sleep per day for adults. Then, I'll have enough time to make...

I'll stop here. It's a TWISTED post by a TWISTED guy with a TWISTED brain, on a TWISTED mood anyway.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bongblongblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/im-twisted-not.html' title='I'm Twisted? But Vico sent me a youtube link that somehow, I was too stupid not to save my writings first that the youtube thing, just somehow being opened in the same window as my blogspot's. BAH. So yea, when I clicked on the "Back" button, it's an empty new page.

Anyway, for those who don't actually understand Mandrin, I'm really sorry about this. The youtube video below is sang in erm, a little bit of Mandrin, Malay, and some Chinese clan's native language. Now, come to think about it, I would just post the entire video up here, but then again, I guess I'll just post the link. A good buddy of mine was saying this singer was caught last week. OMG. Now I don't know if that's true, but I definitely don't want to be accused of NOT being patriotic.

The song is basically a Chinese rap song, with a little bit of the national anthem being inserted here and there. And the singer was singing on some really sensitive stuff that normal people like myself would only keep to our family. I salute his bravery though. Not that I support him or anything. But there are some truths alright. Especially when there's this part about students who go to Chinese Independant school not able to enter local university. Yeah, and he actually had all this University of Malaya logo being incorporated in his video. Anyway, here's the link, I'm NOT commenting anything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NczMNH0dbEQ

By the way, do you actually noticed today's date? Forget about the 7th of July. My friend from secondary school just messaged me this saying today's teh 20th of July, and well, it took me quite a long time realizing what she was saying. 20.07.2007. Now, wouldn't that be nice... I'm thinking of getting drunk. As in I'll walk straight into a light pole kind of drunk. Not difficult I suppose, although I do have this pit on my cheeks that older people say that means I can really drink. But I can assure you, I never drink. LOL

Anyway, enjoy the weekend!
